
Medical Certifcation
Before considering medical cannabis certification, it is important to understand who is legally eligible to participate. Currently, Kentucky residents must be at least 18 years of age or have an assigned caregiver and must not have been convicted of a disqualifying felony offense. Anyone with specific questions about legal eligibility should seek legal counsel. Please see FAQs for more details and resources about this process.
Qualifying Medical Conditions
For medical cannabis certification, patients must have a least one of the following medical conditions:
Cancer
Any cancer regardless of stage
Pain
Chronic lasting greater than three months or debilitating pain substantially affecting daily activities
Epilepsy
Epilepsy or any other seizure disorder
Muscular
Disorders
Multiple sclerosis, muscle spasms, or spasticity
Nausea
& Vomiting
Chronic nausea or cyclical vomiting syndrome that has been proven resistant to other conventional medical treatments.
PTSD
Post-traumatic stress disorder as verified by DSM-5 criteria (assessment can be completed during certification visit).
